Use airport codes before comparing prices
Tell the concierge which New York departure airports you can use and which London arrival airports work for you. Do not leave “New York” and “London” as city labels on the final quote. The ground journey is part of the decision, especially when you have a fixed meeting or hotel check-in.
BA’s 2026 summer schedule announcement identifies JFK service to Heathrow. Schedules remain date-dependent; request a flight-specific itinerary rather than relying on a published frequency.
Choose the arrival that fits your day
For an overnight flight, decide whether your priority is more time at home before departure or a more usable arrival day. Consider how you will rest, what you plan to do after landing, and whether you can access your accommodation early.
Avoid comparing flight time alone. Put your intended airport arrival, connection if any, immigration, ground transfer and first appointment in the same plan. Ask for a practical buffer rather than assuming the best possible timing at every step.
Identify the cabin on both directions
If a British Airways option is proposed, distinguish Club World from the Club Suite seat design. Use the airline guide and exact seat map. If another airline is proposed, perform the same flight-specific check rather than assuming the product from an alliance or marketing flight number.
For a connecting itinerary, identify the cabin on the shorter sector too. Ask whether all flights are on one ticket and who handles changes.
